Salphron mhîw

The language chosen for the translation is Noldorin approximately of the time of the Etymologies rather than later Sindarin. The conception assumed is one where the genitive/possessive noun is lenited (as in Ennyn Ðurin Aran Vória). It is assumed permissible that gar- is conjugated as an a-verb (note the past tense garant). The internal rhyme fawr–llawr is preserved as dhaur–naur.

• muig — 'cat', imported from earlier Noldorin (PE13:150)
• amalannen — 'grown up', < am- 'up' + gala- 'grow'
• edrenui — from struck-out edraenui 'outside, bordering, outer', lit. 'out of border'
• rimmen — 'striped', from Q. rimpina 'striped', cf. G. rimin 'striped, edged'
• puid(a)- — 'to clean up, to tidy up', cf. Q. poita- 'to cleanse'
